July's First Friday Was One To Remember

The gallery came alive with inspiring artwork, great music, and engaging conversations.

July's First Friday reception welcomed another wonderful crowd to the WCAG Gallery for an enjoyable evening of art, fellowship, and live music. Members, friends, and first-time visitors browsed the latest artwork, visited with artists, and enjoyed refreshments while Lizette and Kamar provided the evening's musical entertainment.

It was another relaxed and welcoming gathering that celebrated the creativity of our local arts community.

The  People’s Choice award winners for June, announced at the June First Friday Reception. From Left to Right, Courtney Brewer’s “Valiance.”  LaWann Tull’s “Imagine” Susan Craig’s “Splash”

We were also pleased to recognize our June People's Choice winners. Courtney Brewer, artist and WCAG gallery chair won the single most votes for her colorful mixed-media painting "Valiance”. Votes for second place was a tie. Susan Craig's whimsical oil painting "Splash" of three children swimming underwater and LaWann Tull's fine art giclee "Imagine" painted in oil of a young girl on a haystack took the honors. These three paintings received the most votes from gallery guests visiting for the month of June, 2026. These paintings will be hanging in a special area of the WCAG Gallery located at 708 Rock Street for the month of July.

A sincere thank you goes to everyone who attended, volunteered, exhibited artwork, and helped make the evening such a success. Gatherings like these continue to strengthen our artistic community, introduce new visitors to the Guild, and showcase the outstanding talent on display at the WCAG Gallery each month.
