Art That Finds a New Home

Discover the latest featured artwork in our 50th Anniversary celebration. 

A new featured piece is now on display in the gallery’s front window as part of WCAG’s 50th Anniversary celebration series. August’s selection is Neptune Lace by Dalhart Windberg. This piece  measures 12x16 inches and is valued at $375.

Born in 1933, Dalhart Windberg is one of Texas’ most celebrated artists. Influenced by the Dutch and Flemish masters, his paintings are known for their masterful use of light, shadow, color, and remarkable attention to detail. His distinguished career earned him numerous honors, including being named Texas State Artist in 1979. Today, visitors may even catch a glimpse of the 93-year-old artist at the Windberg Art Center in Georgetown.

As we continue celebrating WCAG’s 50th Anniversary, this month’s featured artwork will be given away through a drawing at the First Friday reception in August. Be sure to stop by, admire this beautiful piece, and enter for your chance to take it home.
