Lynn Kessel
Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor, Mixed Media

Lynn Kessel is a self-taught artist whose work is driven by curiosity, intuition, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. She is based in Georgetown Texas, works primarily in acrylic, and explores bright, vibrant color and tactile textures to create images that sit between representation and abstraction. She is now exploring the worlds of oil and abstract painting.
Her subjects often come from landscapes, flora, animals, and people – forms that hold an energy of their own. Some pieces lean toward realism, grounding the viewer in familiar shapes, while others dissolve into abstraction, guided by emotion, movement, and color relationships rather than strict depiction.
Her art is an ongoing exploration of color, form, and expressive possibilities through experimentation, determination, and relentless play, and shaped by a self-directed learning journey and a desire to create work that resonates on both visual and emotional levels.
Lynn has served as president of the Williamson County Art Guild for 3 terms and the Georgetown Arts and Culture Board for several terms. Her work is routinely displayed at the Framers Gallery and the Williamson County Art Guild Gallery. She has also exhibited at the Georgetown Red Poppy Festival for over 20 years.
