Anca Thomas

I am self-taught artist, and I start to paint when I was five years old. Through my abstract designs I open the inside of us and expressed feelings in colors and shapes. The hand work into my fiber art is very rare in this era of technology, but in my fibers, I incorporate techniques that I learned growing up, like weaving, knit, crochet, macrame, felt, and since 2023 I spin my own art yarn. It is important to keep old methods alive and to teach new generations skills that will be soon forgotten! My art is admired in many galleries in Texas, and one of my important award/ ribbons are at The TEXAS State Fair, in Dallas, where I was selected 4 years in a row in few categories into the Creative Arts Section. It is the biggest fair in USA, and it is juried for days, so I am proud to see that my creativity is admired by about 3 million visitors every year!
